The Home Office attempted to rent every room in Camelot Castle Hotel to house illegal immigrants. The owner refused.

The Home Office made an effort to rent a castle to house illegal immigrants at the taxpayer’s expense. Ministers attempted to gain use of the Camelot castle to house illegal immigrants that have crossed the channel in dinghies.

This news broke on Monday, just a day after 1,065 illegal immigrants completed the journey on Sunday. Another 539 completed the journey on Monday bringing this year’s number of illegal arrivals by boat to 35,211 that we know about. The Home Office asked Camelot Castle Hotel in Tintagel, Cornwall, if they could rent the rooms for what was revealed to be a £1 million deal.

Castle owner John Mappin told GB News he was offered a £1 million deal for all of the £256-a-night rooms in the castle. John stated that he rejected the offer and said he holds the belief that “the boats should be turned round and the navy should be defending our island.

He also made the point that the Home Office recommended he fire all of his staff except maybe two or three to carry out cleaning duties. The Home Office told John that any damage will be repaired and all he had to do is take pictures of how the rooms looked before the illegal immigrants move in.

The historic site has been a hotbed for tourism over the years and according to folklore, it is the home of the legendary King Arthur.

It’s not often an owner refuses the money of the Home Office so credit where credit is due. The mere suggestion of putting invaders in a castle is truly sickening, let alone one as historic as Camelot Castle.

What sort of message is this sending to the world?
