Illegal Immigration: The Influx Continues
Last night emergency services were called to Dover due to illegal immigrants reported to have been on board a container vessel. The incident took place late on Sunday and has carried on well into the night.
Kent police assisted the Border Force on the scene. This morning fire engines and specialist paramedics arrived at the Western docks.

Some more illegal immigrants made it to the UK. They'll be transported to a hotel in next to no time.pic.twitter.com/mQWOmhVj4j

It is reported that the illegal immigrants have been in a ‘container’ and it is unclear on how many were on board the vessel. I have written to the Home Office for confirmation.
The Portuguese registered vessel left Casablanca, Morrocco on the 30th of March and sailed into the English Channel on the 2nd of April. It was sat of the Deal coast on the 3rd for the entire day before it entered Dover harbour at around 8:30pm.
The ship is used to transport ‘general cargo’ and is sailing under the flag of Portugal.
It seems that illegal immigrants are now no longer letting the weather restrict them from crossing the Channel. If they can’t cross by dinghy then they’ll try other routes it seems.
This year over 1,400 illegal immigrants have arrived by boat. 823 have arrived in March. In the year 2020, 466 illegal immigrants had arrived by 1st of April. This year illegal arrivals by boat have been tripled and almost quadrupled in numbers.
