RNLI Have Ferried In Illegal Immigrants 203 Times From January To November This Year.

The Coast Guard has confirmed that the RNLI has headed out to pick up illegal immigrants on 203 separate occasions.
The RNLI and similar organisations have recently been given the green light to go out and ‘rescue’ illegal immigrants.
This year alone, from January 1st to November 17th, the RNLI has headed out to collect illegal immigrants 203 times.
In addition to this, there have been hundreds of situations in which the RNLI have headed out to assist the Border Force but haven’t returned with any illegal immigrants on board.
The RNLI lifeboats involved have been called from various Lifeboat stations along the coast. The lifeboats involved were from Ramsgate, Walmer, Dungeness, Littlestone, Rye, Hastings and Dover.
It’s estimated that the RNLI has ferried in over 6,500 illegal immigrants this year and assisted in one way or another of the arrival of a further 5,000.
This year over 27,000 illegal immigrants have arrived by boat. The vast majority have been picked up by the Border Force and the RNLI and returned to Dover.
So a freedom of information request was sent to the maritime coastguard agency to see how many times they've requested the lifeboats go out to collect migrants from life boat locations around dover and this was there response
