South Wales Police warned James, a young journalist not to call illegal immigrants ‘undocumented aliens‘ in case it offends ethnic minorities. They then added that if anyone were to complain they would investigate it as a hate crime.

On the 9th of September James went to the Holiday Inn, Cardiff, just off Junction 32 with a group of people. He went there after hearing reports that it had been closed off to the public to house economic migrants (illegal immigrants).

James only went to the location to show the public the truth of what was happening as the local news outlet ‘WalesOnline‘ fail to do so time and time again.

Saturday night (10th September) South Wales Police attended James’ parent’s house to ‘interview him’ however he wasn’t there as it wasn’t his address. Upon discovering the Police were trying to contact him, James called 101.

James was told by an officer on the phone that in one of his videos on the 9th of September in which he was covering a hotel in Cardiff housing illegal immigrants, he used the words “undocumented aliens“.

The police officer said to James “You have to take this video down” and threatened to treat the incident as a ‘hate crime‘ if any ethnic minorities complained. Thats all despite the fact that nobody did actually complain. This is simply the Police trying to halt James’ freedom of speech and expression.

South Wales Police stated that they were concerned ‘ethnic minorities’ may be offended.

I reached out to James to see what his thoughts were on what happened.

James said:

“Apparently me saying ‘undocumented alien’ could constitute a hate crime, even though no one has complained. They said they were ringing to warn me that if someone does complain then I could be charged with a hate crime.”

I asked if he will be keeping the video up as in my opinion he should, he’s committed no crimes.

James said:

“Yes, I have kept the video up. I refuse to remove it, as my job, being a journalist, is to cover particular things that no one else will. I have never had trouble with the police before.”

He then went on to add:

“I believe the police contacted me as I exposed where the migrants were being housed as it was deemed “confidential” by WalesOnline. But I believe that the public had a right to know. It was nothing more than an intimidation tactic by the police, a failed one at that.”

James believes the Welsh establishment fears Voice of Wales because they are one of only a few people that are genuine vocal opposition.

South Wales Police should focus on stopping crimes rather than watching a young student’s videos and trying to control his thoughts. Unfortunately, these incidents are becoming far more common.

I reached out to South Wales Police for a statement but I failed to get a response.
